Abstract

The aim of our study is to provide an outline on the bilingual lexicography, from a diachronic perspective. Our special interest focuses on the bilingual lexicographical works having Romanian as a source language and the translation into French, as well as dictionaries having French as a source language and the translation into Romanian. Our intention is to present the specialization of some lexicographers in different types of bilingual dictionaries, highlighting the aspects that distinguish contemporary bilingual lexicographical works from those previously written. By presenting the stages that marked French-Romanian and Romanian-French bilingual lexicography, we have attempted to highlight the qualitative and quantitative progress made in this field, as well as the diversification of the lexicographical works, determined by the developments and the transformations in our society.
