    Vol. 18 No. 1-2 (2025)

Studii şi cercetări de onomastică şi lexicologie (SCOL)  [Studies and Research in Onomastics and Lexicology] (SCOL) is an annual peer-reviewed journal, published since 2008 at the University of Craiova. The journal continues a well-established tradition of onomastic research initiated by the late Professor Gheorghe Bolocan, former editor of Studies and Research in Onomastics (1995–2003).

The journal is dedicated to two core fields of linguistic inquiry: onomastics and lexicology. These complementary disciplines explore both the unity and diversity of language, from synchronic and diachronic perspectives. While treated as distinct areas, their intersection is frequently highlighted in the contributions published in SCOL.

SCOL provides an international platform for scholars, including researchers, academics, doctoral candidates, and graduate students, to publish original work related to European linguistic space. The journal features:

    ·     Research articles

    ·     Book reviews and review essays

    ·     Scholarly presentations

The Academica section offers up-to-date information on national and international conferences and scientific events in onomastics, lexicology, and terminology.

The Recent Publications section highlights newly released works in these and related fields.

SCOL is indexed in EBSCO and ERIH+. Following the evaluation conducted by the National Council for Scientific Research (CNCS) in December 2012, SCOL is ranked as a Category B journal.
